The truth that can be hard to swallow is that there will be countless white-outs and torn out pages along your journey. You may have to revise that vision board or come up with a new plan. I once heard “there is no alternative to hard work.” Consistency is hard-work. I believe it is something that we as humans wrestle with. It can either be in a situation that is to our benefit or our downfall. Because relationships are a common factor in the lives of every human, I like to go back to the basics. So many people struggle with being consistent in their commitments, practices, etc. A lot of people don’t want to put in the work to make something successful or allow it to be successful. We live in a society that flourishes off instant gratification. However, is it really benefiting you in the long run? This has created a mindset of NOW, but what about later. Also, what you are wanting right now if you build a solid foundation will be around later. We have all seen people who were good one moment, then struggling the next. There is wealthy vs. rich. There is joy vs. happiness. There is love vs. infatuation. I don’t know about you all, but I would take the one that may not come easy and may take a while. One can fade away in an instant, and this same concept pertains to popularity.
For most of us, the outcome that we are looking for in any aspect of our life will not happen overnight. Preparation is a major part of consistency. I think that everything that you do leading up until that moment is preparation. Something that you go through will always prepare you for something that is to come. Preparation for that moment can be being consistent in the habits and work that needs to be done, so once you get to where you are trying to go, you will know what to do and how to handle it. You must stay the course and allow yourself or whatever it is time to grow. Trees are planted every day, but the roots take time to dig deep into the soil.
Like I previously said, consistency is hard work and it takes time. When it pertains to self-development, you cannot expect yourself to change in a day. You can begin that change though. You have to continually press into yourself and what is good for you. Well, not even what may be good, but what is right for you. The mind is like a consuming muscle that requires constant exercise. The mouth speaks from the product of that exercise. Our body does what our mind tells it. You must be consistent in building the foundation and the you that you wish to be. Yes, life brings so many twists and turns, but you must be conscious about your practices and manage what you can control. You can control how consistent you are.
Love,
Raven Renee
